This parade is a Guinness World Book Record holder!

The first Saturday in October Grand Island hosts the largest parade in the state of Nebraska, with more than 100 high school bands marching in competition for trophies on the 18-block parade route. Float entries compete for cash and other awards and decorate their entry with a theme selected each year. No admission for the parade. 

A field competition is held after the parade at the Grand Island Senior High School Stadium. An admission fee is charged for this event.
